Makins is a purpose built facility dedicated to the delivery of first class service and customer care. We have five individually controlled chill stores giving a total chilled area of 100,000sqft and three ambient storage areas built to food grade standards to help us to meet your individual needs. In 12 years of handling fresh produce imports and exports we have built a reputation for quality service and reliability.

Our state of the art Integrated Management System (IMS) provides 100% tractability on all products received and despatched from site. IMS works in real time, instantly updating after every transaction, so we know exactly what stock we hold and its location on site every minute of every day.

We have experience of handling high volumes of product and working to tight deadlines. Makins highly trained handlers frequently work around the clock to receive as much as 4000 tonnes arriving from the port in 24 hours. All packages are scanned onto site at discharge, and then scanned to a location before being moved into storage.

The site is very secure with 8ft fencing, enclosing everything within the 12 acre complex. Constant CCTV is in operation and covers the total area of the site.
